Trend theme Products based on fair trade

The trend towards “mindful choices” that are both “good for me” and “good for the environment” has led to a steady growth in products featuring “fairtrade” claims. Innova Market Insights reports indexed growth of over 20 percent new food & beverage launches carrying fairtrade claims globally. Fairtrade remains a niche in food & beverages, however, but is particularly pronounced within the confectionery space. In 2017, one in three fairtrade certified new food & beverage launches was in the confectionery category.
