Content

For the food and nutrition sector to maintain or enhance its competitive edge, innovation is
essential. The innovation support programme, launched by the Federal Ministry of Food and
Agriculture (BMEL), pools and promotes the vast potential of ideas contributed by the
industry and the scientific community.


An Anuga Expert Forum, on October 9, will provide a platform for a number of supported
project ideas - at various stages of research and development - in the fields of food
production and nutrition. Following the short presentations, there will be time and
opportunity for discussion.


Projects presented concern innovative technologies or procedures in the fields of:
- Food safety
Reducing product-specific germs whilst maintaining product quality
- Proof of origin
Determining the geographic origins of foods and ensuring authenticity
- Food reformulation
Reducing the salt, fat or sugar content in a food item
