100 years of Anuga history

In the world of food and beverages nobody gets around Anuga. The largest trade fair in the world is the most important industry meeting point. It offers a globally representative breadth and depth of offer like no other trade event. Whereby the sheer size was never its only aim. The consistent development into a trade fair and the continual continuation of the bundling of commodity groups has in the course of its meanwhile 100-year history turned it into what it is today: the no. 1 event worldwide!

Duration of Anuga shortened down to 5 days

2003

Introduction of the 10 (autonomous) trade shows. Introduction of taste as an innovation competition.

2005

Introduction of the "Fully Organic" special event for the presentation of organic products for supermarkets.

Opened by the Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.

2007

Introduction of a partner country concept with Thailand.

In terms of the buildings, it is staged in the new Northern section for the first time.

2009

Turkey is the partner country

The 1st Anuga Gourmet Festival staged in the city parallel to the trade fair.

2011

CateringTec is renamed FoodService "Chef of the Year" finals in Cologne for the first time.

Anuga is opened by the Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle together with the Italian Minister of Agriculture Francesco Saverio Romano.

Italy is the partner country Proof of the organic certification for the exhibitors of Anuga Organic.

2013

The Spanish successor to the throne Felipe and his wife Princess Letizia visit Anuga.
