Agroprimus S.A., established in 2005, was originally born as a family project to add value to the production chain. To achieve this objective, it was decided the construction of a specialties processing plant, particularly suitable for PopCorn.
The aim was to reach vertical integration starting with the planting of seeds and finishing with the export of popcorn, including seeds selection and classification, as well as observing and supervising good practices both in production and processing.
Shortly after the beginning of the project and looking ahead in the medium and long term future, it was determined that a larger scale of operations would be more efficient. In this regard, the company decided to include new partners, all of them farmers and known to the founders that had been part of a nationwide highly regarded agricultural research group for over 40 years.
