When it comes to organic food, Austria is leading in Europe and it is home to Europe's largest producer of organic vegetable oils - VFI Oils for Life. The family business from Wels operates a new, particularly sustainable organic oil mill in Ennsdorf. Ölmühle Ennsdorf obtains the energy for the presses from the shells of the sunflower seeds. VFI ferments them in its own plant to produce biogas, which is then used to generate electricity and heat energy for production.
The Bio-Bonella range includes organic cooking and deep-frying oil, organic deep-frying fat, blended organic vegetable oil, organic sunflower oil and organic rapeseed oil. Chefs can choose from the usual range of cooking oils. Organic cooking oils are a good way to increase the proportion of organic products in canteens and canteen kitchens and thus achieve the federal and state targets in a safe and predictable manner. Organic vegetable oil from VFI is available all year round, has 100% European added value, is sustainable and GMO-free.
