Dr. Isabell Schmidt
Graduate geoecologist, doctor of natural sciences at the University of Karlsruhe (TH).
Dr. Schmidt is managing director of the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen, which represents the interests of around 300 medium-sized plastic packaging manufacturers. Within the association, she is responsible for the areas of circular economy, environmental and sustainability and has headed the round table Eco Design of Plastic Packaging since 2014. Since 2018, the association has been pursuing its own goals for the circular economy of plastic packaging.
Dr. Schmidt earned her PhD in sustainable product assessment and gained over 20 years of experience in sustainable product and business development, including at BASF and KPMG in Germany and South Africa.
