Briefly Vita: Born in 1961, trained agricultural technician. The family business in Northern Hesse, the Kellerwaldhof, has been managed according to Bioland guidelines since 1988, its own cheese has been produced since 1999 and has been largely run by the sons for several years.
From 2003 - 2009 member of the Hessian state parliament, political spokesman for agriculture, Europe, consumer protection as well as rural areas and genetic engineering. He has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009. There he is a member of the EU Agriculture Committee (AGRI) as well as a member of the EU Environment Committee (ENVI) and the agricultural policy spokesman for the GRÜNEN / EFA group.
