Penny Cox
Penny is currently responsible for launching online grocery offerings across all major markets in South East Asia for Lazada/Alibaba group. Before this she launched a within-1-hr grocery delivery service within Singapore for RedMart, Singapore’s leading online store for groceries, household essentials and related products. Prior to that she held the position of VP of Commercial, responsible for the P&L, product range, pricing, availability and profit. As a key member of the founding team of RedMart, Penny launched a grocery marketplace, added fresh and frozen foods, and grew revenue by 20X. RedMart was acquired by Lazada/Alibaba in November 2017. Prior to RedMart, Penny worked for Coles in Australia on their online strategy and at Ocado in the UK as senior merchandising and strategy manager. She started her career designing football stadiums in UK and moved on to strategy consulting with L.E.K. Consulting before finding her niche in the then-nascent world of online grocery. Penny has an MBA from INSEAD and a Masters in Engineering from University of Cambridge and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
