Experience Ottakringer
The foundation stone was laid: On 18th September 1837, in the so-called "Century of the Beer Brewers", the Klosterneuburg Monastery approved the founding of the Ottakringer Brewery. Ever since then, we have been brewing Austria's most refreshing beer - for more than 180 years.
Ottakringer is the last large Viennese brewery and at the same time one of the last large independent breweries in Austria. Today, it employs around 180 people and brews 427,000 hectoliters of beer per year. But we don't just produce beer: Thanks to our unique event locations in the heart of Vienna, we have become an integral part of this vibrating city.
Brewing at the highest level
Brewing has always been done with the clearest spring water from our own well, which is over 100 meters deep, and with carefully selected varieties of malt and hops. For generations, the brewmasters have been developing the beers of the family business while giving them an unmistakable character with great attention to detail.
