Guy Foubert, born in 1938 in Sint-Niklaas,was a passionate Belgian chocolatier.
His story alone is not ours, ours is a love story.
When Guy marries Liliane, theyimmortalize their love and passion for chocolate by merging their first names
into one and the story of Guy-Lian begins.
The couple created, for the first time, the iconic Guylian Seashell chocolates.
Guy developed the original recipe of our signature hazelnut praliné filling, which we still honour to use up to this day.
The artistic touch was added by Liliane when she designed the shiny, marbled exterior and the beautifully sculptured shapes.
The dark, white and milk chocolate of the shells blend into each other, just like the lives of our two lovers.
Our factory in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, produces up to 800 million chocolates
each year which are sold in more than 120 countries worldwide.
Since 2008, Guylian is part of the Korean Lotte Group.
