The event
The Central Coordination of Trade and Agriculture (Zentrale Koordination Handel-Landwirtschaft e.V., ZKHL) has launched the origin label "Goodness from German Agriculture" with a clear goal: to make agricultural products and foodstuffs that are produced and processed in Germany immediately recognizable to consumers. This unified product label enhances market transparency and highlights the performance and value of Germany’s agricultural and food sectors. The label guarantees origin: all key stages of production and processing – whether for meat, eggs, dairy, fruit, or vegetables – must take place entirely within Germany. Independent audits ensure compliance with defined criteria, making the origin labelling credible and verifiable for consumers. For food producers, the label offers a clear added value: it enables transparent communication of product origin – even for product categories that are currently not subject to mandatory origin labelling. This creates a potential market advantage through transparency and strong consumer orientation. As a private-sector initiative, the label is open to all food businesses that meet the requirements. In addition to the retail sector, the initiative also aims to extend its reach to out-of-home catering, gastronomy, and wholesale markets. ZKHL and its partners are committed to the principles of the social market economy and to fair, undistorted competition.
