About Prof. Dr. Carsten Leo Demming
Prof. Dr. Carsten Leo Demming is the program director and deputy dean of studies for the Business Administration – Food Management program at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Heilbronn. His expertise in research and teaching lies particularly in the areas of consumer insights, innovation management, and market research. After studying nutritional economics at the University of Giessen and international food business and consumer studies at the University of Kassel, Carsten Leo Demming held various positions in product development, market research, and consumer research in the food industry on the industrial, commercial, and management consulting side. One focus has always been on customer-centric support for food innovation processes in over 100 national and international projects. After working in the business world, Prof. Dr. Demming completed his doctorate at the Chair of Marketing & Consumer Behavior at the University of Göttingen in the field of word-of-mouth marketing. Since 2020, Carsten Leo Demming has been a professor at the Heilbronn University of Cooperative Education, where he is responsible for marketing and consumer research in the Business Administration – Food Management program. In addition to his teaching activities and consulting projects for companies and organizations, Carsten Leo Demming contributes his expertise to research projects at the interface between customer understanding, innovation, and cross-cutting topics such as digitalization and sustainability.
