About Marc Oshima
With an-depth background in Agriculture, CPG, Retail, and Specialty Food, Marc Oshima is a passionate champion of the food industry with a focus to make fresh, nutritious produce more accessible to communities around the world. Marc co-founded AeroFarms, one of the pioneers for vertical farming, and today, Marc is the CEO for Babylon Micro-Farms, a global leader for on-site indoor farming, inspiring people to have a greater connection with their food and how it is grown through proprietary growing technology.
Marc has been a Board Member over the years for organizations like Food for Climate League, CEA Alliance, CEA Food Safety Coalition, International Fresh Produce Association Grower/Shipper Council, Culinary Institute of America Master's Program for Sustainable Food Systems, Montclair State University School of Food Science and Nutrition, Chefs Collaborative, Produce Marketing Association, United Fresh Marketing & Merchandising Council, and Food Bank for NYC Marketing Council.
Marc has been recognized by RETHINK Retail as a “Top Retail Expert 2025” for Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods, by TheFoodCons for their 2024 list of "Top 99 Leaders Shaping Global FoodTech," by Produce Business for their 2020 "Vanguard Awards for the Top 35 Innovators Ever Who Have Shaped the Produce Industry" and by Eating Well magazine as one of their "2018 American Food Heroes."
With a BA and MBA from Columbia University, Marc is also active on their Alumni Committee as well.
