PANAMAR BAKERY GROUP JOINS LEAN & GREEN AND PROGRESSES ITS STRATEGY TOWARDS EFFICIENCY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Panamar Bakery Group has formalised its participation in Lean & Green, the European initiative coordinated in Spain by AECOC that aims to decarbonise logistics, joining more than a hundred companies committed to efficiency and sustainability.

The project's first goal is to develop a sustainable logistics plan and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with its logistics processes by 20% over no more than five years

In joining the project, the company commits to developing an action plan to reduce all CO2 emissions generated by its logistics operations (in terms of transport of goods and storage) by at least 20% within at most five years.

The launch of the plan involves implementing precise methodologies to calculate the carbon footprint and includes decisive actions such as using cleaner energy, reducing energy consumption in storage and transport, and optimising loading units and transport routes. The results will be assessed by an external auditor to certify that the results have been achieved, providing transparency and traceability for clients and collaborators.

Panamar Bakery Group thus assumes a commitment to continuous improvement that will allow it to accelerate its transition to a sustainable mobility model and to achieve the objectives set at the Climate Summit in Paris (COP21), contributing to improving the environment and society.
