FairWineAward: Harmony of Wine Enjoyment and Quality in the Natural Realm
The world of viticulture faces greater challenges today than ever before. With the looming specter of climate change, innovative solutions are imperative to secure the future of winemaking. The questions become: How can we confront climate change? How can we cultivate a wine industry that is environmentally friendly while simultaneously reducing the use of pesticides? The wine producers have long recognized these challenges and have been diligently grappling with them. Yet, many of these efforts often transpire in silence. That is about to change.
Introducing the FairWineAward: a platform dedicated to these devoted vintners. Following a successful debut at the new wine trade fair EUROVINO in Karlsruhe in March 2023, the FairWineAward returns for its second iteration in autumn 2023.
An esteemed panel of experts, led by Dr. Hermann Pilz from Landau and renowned sommelier Claudia Stern from Cologne, will taste and evaluate the submitted wines in September 2023. Anticipation grows as we await the announcement of the winning wines, which will be honored on October 10, 2023, at 12:30 pm on the " Organic on Stage " platform during Anuga (October 07-11), captivating an enthusiastic audience.
Recognition for Winemakers
The recognition conferred by the FairWineAward in accordance with Section 30, Paragraph 6, Sentence 2 of the Wine Regulation bestows a distinctive distinction upon participating winemakers. The awards garnered may be proudly displayed on labels, price lists, and in advertisements from the commencement of the new viticultural year—an earnest acknowledgment of the competition's superior quality standard.
