Organic agriculture in Russia seems to be a blank spot on the map, but there is a lively and active organic movement and a rapidly growing market, especially in urban areas. Even if the political framework conditions are difficult, organic farming has many opportunities in this large country, where a lot of arable land lies fallow and thus organic farming can develop on the ruins of the original "socialist agro-industrial complexes", i.e. collective farms. "Organic made in Russia" has a future, whereas no wave of imports is to be expected in the EU. In any case, it is worth taking a look at the current situation and the potential for development.
