Wicklein Introduces First Advent Calendar with Video Function

The Nuremberg-based traditional company Wicklein (founded in 1615) is presenting a genuine novelty in the Christmas season this year: An interactive gingerbread calendar aimed at capturing the hearts of families. Wicklein's gingerbread Advent calendar comes with a free video feature that can be accessed by the recipient behind the 24th door.

"We want to bring back some of the magic of Advent," explains Wicklein's Sales Director Stefan Roßkopf, who has more innovations in store for the autumn/winter season under the motto "Innovation instead of Recession." Among these innovations, the pastry specialists are expanding their vegan product range with a DIY vegan gingerbread house. Additionally, they are introducing new, original tin boxes and chests, such as various music tin and a nutcracker couple.

However, the highlight is the customizable Advent calendar. Behind a sticker on the front, the buyer will find a QR code that allows them to easily record a personal message for family members, friends, or even business partners on a landing page. The recipient will also receive a QR code upon opening the last door, which, when scanned, leads to the previously recorded video. "Our calendar is the first one that can be gifted with such a personal message," explains Stefan Roßkopf. "We are confident that this personal touch will set it apart from competing products."

The introduction in retail is planned for August 2023, with a suggested retail price of €24.99.
