ABOUT GREEK AROMATIC HERBS

Greek aromatic plants and herbs have been an invaluable natural treasure for thousands of years. Inscriptions of linear B of the Mycenaean and Minoan period, Homer’s epics, the writings of Hippocrates, Dioscorides and Theophrastus, folk songs and modern literature, are all full of frequent references, revealing the important role of herbs in the life of the Greeks at all periods of their history.

There exist 7.655 species and subspecies of herbs in Greece. Approximately 1.200 are endemic while about 20% are aromatic or medicinal plants. According to international references, Greece ranks third in the world in biodiversity, and among the top five countries with the greatest wealth of aromatic plants.

We emphasized the authenticity of Greek herbs because climate and soil conditions favor unique herbs and there is long history of their consumption both as beverages but also as medicines.

We strive to provide premium quality beverages and promote a healthy way of life. Our tisanes popped up after a competent collection of knowledge, necessary to improve and develop the experience of their consumption.
