Guatemala is the largest producer of Cardamom in the world, FEDECOVERA obtained its Organic Certification in 2006, becoming the first Producer, Processor, and Exporter of Organic Cardamom in the world.

Cardamom as a Value Chain promotes the protection of the biodiversity, landscape, and soil restoration. The plantations inside the cooperatives are cultivated under agroforestry systems and organic practices, directly beneficiating the small producers and their families improving their livelihoods in a social-economic and environmentally sustainable way.
